Dad, we never appreciate what you do for us when we’re young. It’s only as we ourselves grow up or become parents that we start to recognise your endless love, unselfish sacrifice, wisdom and guidance. When I look back, even to a couple of weeks ago, I remember all the laughter and fun we had. You taught me how to navigate, we went canoeing and exploring, and you helped and supported me as I developed into who I am today. You were always there with Mum, sacrificing everything to make sure we had the opportunities you could only dream of as a boy. We can’t choose our parents but we dropped on, we’re so lucky, so much love and laughter. I’m so proud to be your son and I couldn’t have wished for a better Dad because I had the best one.
